Dragonite Sprite by Kairyu Dragonite Sprite by Kairyu
Let's post something I made a while back c:

I think this was my fourth or fifth attempt at making pixel art. And my god, did it take forever to finish ._. Right around five hours over the course of three days. Not sure if that's average or excruciatingly slow for pixel art of that size. Oh well. I'm happy in how it turned out.

Why did I make it? Glad you asked that. I have a backloggery page: [link] and I wanted to use a pixel art drawing of good ol' Dragonite. You know, to keep the theme consistent. Failing to find anything to my liking I decided to read up on some tutorials and make it myself.

(lawl, I might make more of these in the future. Pixel art, that is.)

H-h-how you do dat?!?!?!?! I wanna make one too!!!!!!!!!.
would you please tell, I've always wanted to do dot art. Alos, do you know how to do a moving sprite? I've always wanted to, but everyone I ask either sends me to a website, where I get lost, or doesnt deliver instructions in plain english ( or dummbed down english, however you would consider it when it's to someone who knows almost absolutley NOTHING about technonlgy.)

Love it, i've always thought that Gamefreak don't capture how I see Dragonite in my mind, this is great though. Friendly, but powerful and ready for action.

Thank you. I haven't been satisfied with how Gamefreak drew up Dragonite in the game series either. Oh well, if you want it done right you got to do it yourself, or something like that.

Good art of dragonite is hard to find around around here. Even if it is a mere 80 pixels tall XD. Looks a lot like an actual modern game sprite... but that was the whole point, right? ^^

Wow... you taked a long time for this? Man looks like that this can be done in less a hour O_o... :P but well, every single artist takes his/her time for his artwork lol.
Also the Avatar that i have was done in Pixel, in Paint.NET...

But looks really nice! :D I like the pose.

You did this in Paint?

Eh I'm probably exaggerating that a little =P
After thinking about it some more I don't think it was more than three hours of work. I'm not experienced at all with pixel art and its intricacies so it's like you said, I took my time.

As for what program I used it was Photoshop CS2. Using only the pencil tool and a layer for the sketched half, of course.

Anyway, thanks! Glad you approve.

Meh, I just tried Paint.Net earlier today with a mouse. Looks like a great program. Bad news is I can't get it to work with my tablet in Vista x64 =/.

Oh well, maybe I can get it to work with my laptop.

Erm... you maybe dunno but uh... working with pixel art is impossible doing with Tablet pressure XD. It also happens to me, on Windows XP 32bits, and also from other friends of mine :P.

It's impossible with tablet pressure? What do you mean? I'm probably misunderstanding your reply but I have no problem making pixelart with a tablet, while using Photoshop at least.

Looking through Paint.Net's setup it does look more streamlined for pixelart stuff. But why would I want to move to another paint program that can't utilize my wacom tablet properly? It is nice that it's also freeware but I don't want to go back to my mouse in order to take advantage of it =p
